Going back to work soon must fill us all with anxiety. At least it does for me. Some states are already open, some are getting ready to open, and after almost 3 months of being home, wearing cozy clothes, and eating whatever I want, going back is a weird idea. Maybe we’ve gained weight, our hair’s grown out, maybe the grey’s are showing, and we might have a unibrow. I mean…

Tee hee hee. This was one of my favorite movies (Austin Powers 2) but it sure doesn’t hold up. Anyway, I digress… Read on for some ideas on how to get your back to work vibe on…

Clothing

These five items of clothing represent a way to ease back into the working world – they all are comfy, chic, and forgiving. No judgment if you might have gained the Corona 15 – it’s been stressful for us all. And with these clothes, no one’s gonna even notice.

Comfy back to work top

Number 1

This is called the “gauzy” top and it’s from the Gap. I rarely shop there anymore because I never find anything I like. This shirt is an exception. I like how it looks like a t-shirt, but it’s also slightly classier. The boxy shape is also quite forgiving. And if you aren’t loving the way that looks that day, you can easily tuck it in.

Back to work midi dress

Number 2

A dress like this is a great professional way to be comfy at work. Since it’s animal print, it’s right on trend. I also like the way the sides split which will make it easy to walk in, or run if you have to. It is form fitting, but hey, you’re a sexy gal, you can rock it!

Back to work culottes

Number 3

On first glance you might be thinking, how can these be comfy with that waistband? Let me tell you my friends, the back is hiding an elastic waistband. Whoo hoo! Since we’re also heading into summer, a culottes are a great idea. Very breezy if you have to walk anywhere in the heat. I also love the happy color – after living in black and navy comfy clothes a pop of color is exactly what is called for.

Loft top back to work

Number 4

This top screams summer to me. The eyelet part of the top, the ruffle sleeves, and the flowy bottom part means it’s a winner. It is forgiving top and would look great with pants or a skirt.

Pants for Back to Work

Number 5

I love a great black pant – this one will fit the bill nicely. They’re linen pants, with a nice elastic waist band, that will be nice for summer.

Face Masks

I know it’s one of those things we don’t want to admit, but we have to embrace it. It’s keeping everyone safe, so I think we should pick ones that make us happy. Below are very different ones!

Number 1

My sister bought these for herself, and her family, my parents, and even me! I like how they’re not overly girly and have fun camo colors.

Number 2 – maskgloves

Now, this is for the really chi-chi gals. Matching mask and gloves! Oh yes. Is it strange that I sort of like the idea of matching? I was talking to my mom the other day about how little white gloves for women used to be the thing. Perhaps we should go back to that. It’s very elegant. Just take a look at any old movie and you’ll see.

Number 3

Bring on the fun! Disney might be different, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun with your mask. I love the idea of having a character’s mouth as your own. What do you think?

Beautify Yourself

This might be one of the biggest issues in lockdown… beauty care. Before you head back to work, you will probably want to make some touch ups. I have used the Flawless Brows (3) a couple of times already!

Number 1

This root cover up has amazing reviews for covering up roots for platinum haired beauties. I like that it’s a spray on deal. I’ve heard people have used coloring that didn’t work or stay. This might be something to try before you can get back in the salon.

back to work nails

Number 2

If the faux gel mani isn’t your thing and you’d like to paint your own nails before you head back to work, this kit might be just what you need. It not only comes with a nail polish, it also comes with “Nail Polish Remover Pot to erase old polish and prep nails, a Clean-Up Brush for easy touch-ups, a flat-edge Nail Clipper, dual-grit Nail File, and Buffer Cube for shaping and smoothing, The Poppy universal polish bottle handle, your choice of nail polish, The Top Coat, and hydrating Cuticle Serum with cactus flower.”

Number 3

This is a great little find. My sister found it a few years ago and I love it. It’s great for touch ups between visits to the waxer. I usually only use it on my brows in between visits, but during this time I’ve also used it on my mustache.

Number 4

I have highlights… or I should say, I did have highlights. I’m eyeing this kit that allows you to give yourself highlights at home. If anyone is braver than I am and tries this, let me know!

Number 5

If you’re not a fan of the Flawless Brows and shaving your eyebrows and mustache, you might want to try waxing on your own. I’ve heard of flamingo for razors, but not for waxing. Doing my internet sleuthing, I came across this In Style article that sings the praises of the brand. So, if you’re ready to try one, why not make it this one?

And there you have it. My ideas for going back to work and how to make the transition easy. If you have any tips or tricks to share with the group, please let me know! Let us all know by leaving a comment below.

  • Great ideas especially the touch up spray for hair that has grown out too much. The clothes also look very cool and comfortable.

    • Yes, I’m interested to hear if that really works. I love the orange pants, myself! I think they would be great for the summer.
