Boots are a necessity in winter; from staying warm to looking cute, you need to find a great pair to last you through the entire season. I know lots of people are partial to Ugg’s, but there are more boots out there! I’ll show ya.

Walking in Winter Boots

From the small start as a boot for surfers to what it is now, Ugg’s have definitely made their mark. Some women I know swear by the sheepskin interior. Personally, I’ve never had a pair because the boot shaft isn’t wide enough for my calf, but for those that can wear them, they love ’em. That’s why it’s made my list.

Boots for Winter Top 8

1. L.L.Bean – Women’s Insulated Commuter | 2. L.L. Bean – Women’s Signature Wicked Good | 3. Amazon – Columbia – Women’s Ice Maiden II Insulated Snow Boot | 4. Nordstrom Rack – Ugg – Bailey Twinface Genuine Shearling | 5. Zappo’s – Merrell – Aurora 6 Ice+ Waterproof | 6. Amazon – DADAWEN – Women’s Winter Waterproof Fur Lined Frosty Snow Boots |
7. Target – Universal Thread  -Women’s Ruthie Microsuede Functional |
8. Nordstrom – Marc Fisher – LTD Izzie Genuine Shearling Lace-Up Boot

Number 1

LL Bean does great boots and these look like another example of that. These have been named the “insulated commuter” boot – and I think it would be fantastic for that. Looks like you can tuck your pants in to the boot so they don’t get wet either.

Wicked Good Boots

Number 2

Yes, another pair of LL Bean boots, but these are like their signature ones. Not cheap, but they should keep for years. With the duck-like bottom part, they look like they’ll be great at keeping water out of the boot. I also love the fur – that should definitely keep your feet nice and toasty.

Columbia

Number 3

If you like the look of the LL Bean one (number 1) but not the price, this boot is for you. Columbia has been around for more than 80 years. And if you like a company where a woman was in charge for a number of those years, these boots are for you. It is rated Rated -25F/-32C – which means it’ll keep your feet warm even at those temps!

Ugg boots

Number 4

Sooo… here are some Ugg’s but at a lower price because they’re at Nordstrom Rack. You gotta move fast though – there aren’t a ton of sizes left! I do think the bows in the back are seriously cute. Be careful when you’re walking on ice. I’ve heard they don’t grip that well.

Merrell

Number 5

These aren’t as high up the leg as the other options, but I thought it would be nice to have a shorter boot in here as well. Sometimes you just don’t need the height – you need the warmth. These are cute, a bit tough looking, and with the fur inside, look to be very warm and comfy. I could see wearing these when it’s a cold, icy day with not much snow.

Moon boots

Number 6

These remind me of these moon boots my mom wore when I was a kid. I remember those were the warmest when I would try them on. These look almost exactly like them. The fur inside is definitely going to keep your feet warm, which is the most important thing to me if you couldn’t tell. I also think this print is pretty cute.

Tan

Number 7

These are from T A R G E T! Can you believe it? They look so luxe and expensive. I had a pair of Target boots a few years ago and they were good for a season. Honestly, the price is great, but they’re not going to be boots you have for the next three or more years. The price does reflect that. Sometimes that’s not a bad thing.

Marc Fisher Boots

Number 8

Ok, so these aren’t strictly ‘snow boots,’ but they are sure cool! I love how it’s a bit of a combat boot (which we know are really in) but jazzed up for winter with the shearling detail. I would roll up my jeans to show these babies off. This would be a great choice for a boot inspired by the Aquatalia Jamie Hiking Boot.

If you’re looking for a workhorse winter boot you’ve got some great choices in this group. I will probably be going for the Target ones (number 7) even though these last ones call to me. Sometimes a girl’s gotta be practical. If you end up getting the shearling combat boots, let me know so I can drool over them.
