I’m pretty sure I’ve extolled my love of t-shirts on this blog, but for those of you who don’t know or are new to the blog, it knows no bounds. Give me a t-shirt any day of the week and I’m a happy gal. Since I work for a creative company, I can wear them to work, however, I’ve become bored with them. I know, how can that happen? Well, it does. That’s why when my sister and I got together for a shopping trip in Chicago, we tried to find t-shirts with some pizzazz.
My t-shirts are usually plain Jane ones from Banana Republic Outlet, or JCrew Outlet. Guys, I’m telling you, the outlets are a great place to stock up on basic t’s. After you have those, you can start to branch out like I did this weekend.
We hit up the usual haunts, including Nordstrom and the end of the half-yearly Anniversary sale. It was pretty picked over, not gonna lie, but we did manage to find some gems. I’m not sharing all our treasures with you, gotta save some for more posts! Keep you guys coming back for more. T-Shirt Detailing
This t-shirt is trendy right now with the strip of fabric right at the collar. I think it looks quite chic on my sister here. It’s not a look that works for me due to the size of my chest. She is wearing a necklace under the fabric, which is an interesting look. She could have also jazzed it up with statement earrings.
On this plain white t-shirt, we paired it with a dainty necklace and a statement skirt. This t-shirt has ruffle detailing, but you could also do this same pairing with one without any detailing and still get a similar result.
Adding Jewelry & Accessories
As everyone knows, you can add jewelry and accessories to make a statement, but it also can elevate a simple t-shirt into looking like a high end blouse. Below are some ideas I’ve gathered that I would throw on to enhance the look.
1. 3-pack Chokers – H&M | 2. Triangle Aztec Enamel Necklace – Chicwish |
3. Striped Pom Pom Drop Earrings – SheIn | 4. Bead & Stars Necklace GOLD – SheIn | 5. Peach Pink Candy Color Sunglasses – Chicwish |
6. Cheerful Daisy Beads Stud Earrings – Chicwish
Add Some Statement Heels
Another way to make a t-shirt look new and trendy is to add heels. For some reason it elevates a simple T into an entire outfit.
Don’t stop at just heels; knee high or over the knee (OTK) boots add drama as well.
What do you guys think? Do you have any ways you elevate your plain t-shirts that I don’t know about? If so, leave them in the comments! I can’t wait to hear what you all think.
