Friend Birthdays – How To Still Rock A Gift

Friend birthdays are still happening while we’re away from them, how do we still send them love and a gift while all this is happening? I’m going to have to agree with you – it’s difficult. During this time, I’ve found my brain has been going to mush and coming with ideas for anything has been a bit difficult. Since this isolation has been messing with me, I bet it’s doing the same to you – this is why I’m doing this post to help you guys out with ideas.

Gifts for Friends

For anyone who’s looking for a gift for me even though my birthday is next year, any of these above will do well! If you don’t want to get these, check out the ones below.

Friend gifts

1. uncommon goods – Long Distance Friendship Frame | 2. Coffee table books – BeachesDestinations of a Lifetime | 3. Etsy – The Stranded Stitch – Please Leave By Nine DIY Cross Stitch Kit | 4. Man Crates – Get Baked Kit | 5. Usual Wines – Rosé | 6. The Sill – Flapjack Succulent Duo | 7. Prezzy Box – Knit Your Own Comfort Blanket | 8. Knack – The Herbivore Calm

Frame for a friend

Number 1

This is a very cool idea for your friends who live far away. Not only can you put a pic of the two of you in the frame, but whenever you’re thinking of your friend you can tap the frame – it will light up on their end to let them know you’re thinking of them. I think it’s a fun idea – even though we do have cell phones and could text. This is such a different way to show them you care.

books for a friend

Number 2 (beaches) (destinations)

Coffee table books are always something I admire on ‘shelfie’s’ (instagram pics of a bookshelf). These are something I’d never buy myself, but would love to have someone give me as a gift. The Beaches one by Gray Malin is a crowd pleaser, with insta worthy pics of beaches. The other is by National Geographic about beautiful travel destinations – all drool worthy, I’m sure. If a friend sends you this book now, you can use your self isolation time to bookmark places you want to go after this is over.

Number 3

Now is probably a great time to pick up a hobby – and when your friend says they don’t want or don’t have a hobby, you can disregard whatever they say and send this to them. This kit looks like it comes with everything you’ll need and it has a cute message… for those that throw parties.

Number 4

I found this on a site geared toward men, but I think it’s a genius gift! It comes with the following:

  • 4 Ceramic Baking Dishes
  • 2 Apple Crisp Topping Mix
  • 2 Apple Crisp Spice Mix
  • 2 Brownie Mix
  • 2 Chocolate Chip Mix

I would love to get my own dessert pan, wouldn’t you?

wine for your friend

Number 5

It seems summer is ‘cancelled’ so you might as well stock your friend up with some rosé. These seem cooler than usual because they come in a box with enough for 6 glasses. So you don’t have to drink a whole bottle at once… not that you’d do that or anything.

Number 6

Succulents are tres hip – and your friend needs one for their birthday. Get on this stat. I mean look how cute these are! They would be adorable on your windowsill – you could name them, talk to them, sing to them… If you wanted to.

friend knitting blanket

Number 7

Another hobby gift for your friend – a kit to teach them how to knit a blanket. That’s what would be welcome during this time – a blanket. I must have 5 blankets at least, but I don’t have one I knitted myself. It’s another one of those things I wouldn’t buy myself either.

spa kit for a friend

Number 8

During this time of self isolating, a calming self spa day would be brilliant. This kit includes:

  • Herbivore Botanicals Calm Bath Salts
  • Herbivore Botanicals Pink Clay Cleansing Bar
  • Baudelaire Wooden Soap Dish
  • Baudelaire Sisal Body Scrubber
  • Mixture Girlfriend Candle – Peppermint Lavender Fragrance
  • Vial of white tipped mini matches

You can also swap out items to lower the price, or add items.

I hope this helps you pick out some gifts to make that friend of yours happy on their self isolating birthday. I’d also add an IOU in there for an in-person activity for when this breaks. What do you all think? Would any of these be a great gift for you?
