Tis the time of year for holiday movies, am I right? Well, I’m going to share my favorite movies and TV shows that I think everyone should watch. If you haven’t seen them ever, get on that STAT, if you haven’t seen them this year, don’t worry, there’s still time! Not only am I sharing my favorite movies – but I’ve also picked out some things to wear and have on your movie night, so read on!
As you can see there’s a fair mix of old favorites and new faves as well. I didn’t include the old stalwart, “It’s A Wonderful Life,” because I overdosed on watching it one year. I think I watched it every day till Christmas. I’ve barely been able to watch the whole thing since then. Another oldie but goodie is “Christmas in Connecticut.” It’s a sweet movie, still makes me laugh, and is usually shown on Turner Classic Movies this time of year. If you can catch it, I highly recommend it. For the newer ones – “The Knight Before Christmas” is a funny one about a medieval knight who is transported to present day America in order to fulfill his knightly quest. Of course he falls in love with Vanessa Hudgens’ character. There are some great lines! It’s on Netflix along with “The Christmas Chronicles.”
While you’re watching these holiday movies, you might want to get cozy…

I’ve heard the latest craze on Tik Tok is hot chocolate bombs. I’ve seen some for sale on etsy, but they’re all sold out – you can also make your own, but let’s face it, I’m not gonna do that. So, the number 2 pick above is basically the same thing, but still for sale. If you feel like being all traditional, the hot chocolate set (number 5) is perfect for you. My brother-in-law has been making me and my sister hot cocoa lately and it just makes me feel Christmassy while we watch our favorite holiday movies and tv shows.
Also, we can’t have a holiday themed post without something Grinch-like can we? Of course not! That’s why number 4 is such a great one! So, get yourself into one of these cute pajama sets and put some cocoa into your new mug just in time to catch one of my favorite animated TV shows…
Animated Holiday Shows
It’s not Christmas for me until I see the original 1966 animated TV show. I’ve discussed my love of the Grinch with you all before (here and here) so it should come as no surprise to see it here on the list. Two other claymation classics are “The Year Without A Santa Claus” where Heatmiser and Coldmiser make their appearance, and “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” with Burgermeister Meisterburger. Not sure what it says about me that I get excited to see the villains of the shows, but they’re just fun.
“Prep and Landing” is a cute one that’s been around for a while now – the phrase “It’s soooo tinsel!” is from this show. My family uses it all the time, so check it out. A new one on the list is “Alien X Mas.” At first my sister and I thought it was a bit of a Grinch like movie, but then it wasn’t. It’s got Santa and aliens who try to take over the Earth. How can you not like that?
Hope you all get a chance to check out these movies or tv shows. Let me know if any of these are your faves too, or if I missed something!
