Easy is what I’m looking for every morning. I don’t know about you all, but I don’t jump up when my alarm goes off in the morning. Nope, I have three alarms set. I hit two of them and go back to sleep. I’ve read The Miracle Morning, I’ve tried everything, and I still whack it and go back to sleep. That’s why I need a makeup routine that’s easy and fast to get me out the door.

The Yves Saint Laurent “Touche Eclat Blur Primer“ is my one bit of makeup that is a splurge. I’m not usually a fan of really expensive makeup because I wonder if it’s really worth the money. Guess what, this one is. I tried the others, the only one that comes close is Benefit Cosmetics “The POREfessional Face Primer.” It’s close, but not as magnificent as the YSL. The Touche Eclat has a dry, matte, silky feel as you slide it across your face. I use my fingers to spread it around, but you can also use a foundation brush. I wouldn’t use a beauty blender as I think it would soak up all the goodness. It also has flecks of gold in it. These subtly catch light and make your face look slightly glowy but not in a juvenile way.

Next up is what I use as “foundation.” I know it’s a taboo word nowadays with all the CC and BB creams, but that’s what I call it. I like this Bare Minerals “Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer” because it’s very light on my face. It evens out the colors in my face and makes it look a bit dewey. Who doesn’t want to look young and dewey?

On to covering my glorious under eye bags. I’ve gone on and on about how dark my circles are and how things like the Vii Code eye masks have helped, but nothing makes them look as good as it cosmetic’s “Bye Bye Undereye.” I’ve detailed how great it is on this post, but I want you all to know I still use it every day. When I don’t use it people are like, “Oh my gosh, are you exhausted?” Nope, I’m just blessed with under eye circles a raccoon would want.

Eye makeup is my favorite part of doing makeup. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time in the morning to get really into smudging, smokey eye, and full on mascara, so this is what I do instead. I start with the urban decay Primer Potion. Mine looks nothing like this because it’s older. I like the older one because I think the new applicator tip doesn’t get enough product on to my eyelid.
The Sephora Collection Colorful Shadow is my new holy grail of eyeshadow. I used to be a fan of Kiko Milano’s Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow, but every single stick broke on me! Talk about being annoyed. This stick doesn’t break because it’s a creamy, smudgey, pencil. I rub it on my eyelids and use my finger to spread it around. My sister gets annoyed that I don’t use brushes, but being all about easy, it takes too much time. Fingers work best.
Continuing with the Sephora Collection, I’ve transferred my eye liner allegiance from Urban Decay to the store brand. I tried the 12hr Colorful Contour Eyeliner on a whim because I didn’t feel like paying the Urban price. I mean, it’s not a lot of money, but the Sephora Collection is cheaper. Am I ever glad I tried it – they have become my new favorite eyeliner. It says on a fairly long time, is easily smudgeable, and goes on easily.

Last up is one thing I never thought made a huge difference until I tried it… eyebrow gel/cream. Oh my gosh, it brightens up your entire face. It’s honestly amazing how just darkening the brow, even by a little bit, makes eyes pop and makes lips become redder. I hate admitting when my sister is right because she lords it over me, but she was definitely right on getting eyebrow gel. I love this stuff. I like the gel, somewhat of a creme consistency one because I can see it when it goes on. The pencil ones and powder don’t seem to work as well for me. Maybe I never got the right color, but it was harder to see the results, unlike the gel/creamy ones. I will be totally honest with you – when I’m running reaaallllyyy late I’ll leave this step out.

I don’t put blush or lipstick on before I run out to catch the subway to work. For me, blush takes too long. Having to get the blush brush out, then put it away, ugh, too much time. Plus, I’m hot all the time and feel like my cheeks get naturally red. As for lipstick, well… I have yet to find a long lasting one for me. It seems I lick my lips a lot – weird, I know, but all lipsticks are gone on me within 20 minutes or less of putting it on.
That wraps up my morning makeup routine. Easy peasy, am I right? Anything look like something you need? Are any of these your faves? Let me know!
Now this Tori is my kind of make-up routine! Thanks for sharing and I only wish we had a Sephora in the Uk!
I’m so glad to hear we are the same when it comes to fast and easy routines. tee hee. Wait – what? There’s no Sephora there? (Picking myself up off the floor…)
The best part is about under eye cover and nice to know there is one that will help with the dark circles.
Oh definitely. That has been my savior!
