Splurge or Steal for Fall – Dress Edition

While browsing through my email the other day I came across this dress that made me click the link on the email.  I rarely do that, but this dress was so different and pretty I had to do it. Then I saw the price – $495.00.  Well, that completely dashed my dreams of wearing that one.  It did get me thinking if I could find something similar for a cheaper price.  Read on to see the two Spurge and Steal dresses that I am salivating over for fall!

I added some other choices for accessories staying in the same categories of splurge and steal.  I could have gone even spendier – but I tried to keep it somewhat in check.  If you want to splurge on an even more expensive bag, check out this post.

Splurge:  Veronica Beard Flounce Dress | Isabel Marant -Étoile Dicker Suede Ankle Boots | Kate Spade New York Daniels Drive – Tressa Leather Crossbody Bag |
Karen Walker Sunglasses

Steal: WAYF Evelyn Tiered Mini Dress | Dolce Vita – Janai Ankle Boot | Tunnel Flap Crossbody Handbag | Sole Society Perrie Sunglasses

Both: Plated Crescent Layered Choker

The only problem with the steal dress is that it’s missing the part of the original dress that I really loved, the part around the waist.  I wouldn’t say it’s a drop waist, it’s more of a rouched waist…?  What do you all think?

The booties are very similar probably due to their color and the fact that a lot of companies have done their own version of the Isabel Marant bootie.  Being of a frugal nature, I would love to splurge on the Marant booties, but I stick with the less expensive versions.  Living in NYC you do a lot of walking in all types of weather.  I wouldn’t want my special shoes to get ruined.  How devastating would that be?  Ok, maybe I’m being a little dramatic here… moving on…

The choker is delicate and would be a great addition to both outfits.  If you’re against a necklace, you can always go for some nice statement earrings, bracelets or rings.  I usually wear the same rings every day – and no, not wedding rings.  That’s my sister.

Which one calls to you?  Let me know in the comments.  I’d also love to hear how you’d style it.
