It’s fall so I’m bemoaning the loss of my favorite summer outfits… but then my sister reminded me that I can keep my outfits with just a few changes to them for fall and winter. By few changes she meant by the addition of jackets. Seriously, it’s that easy, check it out!
It’s not just coats that can make the transition to fall; shoes are a great way to transition as well. Let’s give a cheer for boot season appearance! As soon as the leaves start to turn and get crunchy under my feet, I gleefully grab my boots and rock them with everything. In the case of the skirt below, knee high boots, or over-the-knee boots would look a little forced.
For these, I’d change out the shirt or add a blazer as well as add tights for warmth.

Another way to take an outfit from summer to fall is to change out your accessories such as your purse and perhaps add a scarf. I usually run on the overly warm side, but I am rather obsessed with scarves.
Eyelash Fringe | Leopard Print | Midi Barrel Bag | Tassel Crossbody
As you can see, there are a number of way to keep your summer clothes but update them for fall and winter. I love the idea of not having to put away clothing I love in boxes under the bed just because it’s getting colder outside. I know I’ve spoken about wanting to do a capsule wardrobe, but the more I look into it, the less I like the idea. According to capsule wardrobe instructions, I should pack away my summer tanks and put all the long sleeved ones in the closet. Yet, I always run hot. I’d much rather keep my summer tanks for the fall and winter, but throw on cute sweaters and blazers in case I get too hot and need to take them off so as to not get sick.
