Swimwear – the items of clothing you love to hate. No no, let me rephrase this. The clothing that’s the most difficult to find and feel comfortable wearing. With temps pushing into the 90s lately I’ve been rethinking my swimwear. I currently have a tankini top and swimshorts. I’ve been doing a lot with my nephew in the water and the top isn’t the best for that. It’s a good “I’m lounging and looking fabulous darlink,” look, not one for actually playing in the sand.

I realize that I might be the only one who wants a suit that is more suitable (tee hee, pun intended)for running around the beach in, so I’ve also rounded up cute swimsuits for lounging. Here are my top 10 for the summer of 2022!

1 Summersalt – The Tie Oasis | 2. H&M – Sports Swimsuit | 3. Albion – Island Fever One-Piece Swimsuit | 4. Athleta – Maldives High Neck Tankini & Malibu Swim Boyshort | 5. Walmart – SunHLX Lady Swimwear – Deep V Neck Contrast Colors Tummy Control Soft Summer Monokini for Beach | 6. Aerie – Waffle Scalloped Tie Longline Triangle Bikini Top & Waffle Scalloped High Waisted Bikini Bottom | 7. H&M – Bikini Bottoms & Padded Bikini Top | 8. Old Navy – Gingham Textured Triangle Bikini Swim Top & Amazon – Lecieldusoir Women’s Swim Shorts | 9. JCrew – Ribbed triangle bikini top & Ribbed-trim hipster full-coverage bikini bottom | 10. Mango – Printed bikini bottom & Printed bikini top
As usual, I’m into stripes. I can’t help myself! I love how numbers 1 and 3 have the stripes going in different directions. Not only is it fun pattern play, it also will narrow your waist. Number 5 is a cool twist on it if you like a little bit of stripe, but you don’t want to go full in on them. It’s also from Walmart and a steal coming in at a whopping $18.87 as of this writing. There are also 3 other colors to choose from; black, blue and red. Personally, I like the green because it’s unexpected. I’ve noticed most women wear black swimwear. And I get it – did you see my pic above – black is slimming and easy. Maybe this year is the one to challenge you, and me, to push out of our color comfort zone and try something with a little more color… how, you might be saying? Well…
Gingham (number 8) is a tried and true bikini top. Remember Mary Ann from Gilligan’s Island? If not, watch some old episodes. She looked adorable in gingham and you can too.
Number 9 (top & bottom), from JCrew, is such a pretty blue color, sure to look great on anyone with or without a tan. When I was a teenager, I would get the JCrew catalog and pore through it every summer. The matching tops and bottoms were like my dream swimsuits, but they were always a bit out of my price range. The ones on here are currently on sale as of this writing, so you might want to hop to it! My teenage heart will be happy.
Number 10 (top & bottom) are a fun print. It’s from Mango, which I rarely shop at, but I had to include it because it gives off summer in Brazil vibes to me. It’s very eye catching, so if you’re lounging by the pool you might want to have some water to give passersby’s to cool off.
Even though number 6 (top & bottom) is white I wanted to include it because… scallops! White also is plain old classy for a swimsuit. I love the way it looks when you’re tan. Don’t forget the sunscreen though! Super important.
What do you think? Would you get any of these swimsuits? Which is your fave? Let me know in the comments!
The beauty about stripes is that they are almost timeless when it comes to fashion.
Oh they so are!
My favorite are 1 with the stripes and I also like 4 the one from Athleta. I really like a number of things from athleta.
Athleta is the best! I really like number 4 as well. And you can never have too many stripes!
