Undergarments are a subject rarely discussed, but today we’re going to dive in and figure out what’s the best for under your clothes. From shapewear to bras, we’re getting into it. Hope you’re ready for this!

I don’t know about you all, but I don’t have thigh gap, and I’m not mad about it. I work hard on my thighs, but they’ll never have a gap. Of course, this also means when I wear dresses or skirts without anything underneath, my thighs rub together and then I get horrible chafing. I’ve tried the runner’s solution, body glide, but I have to keep reapplying it. The things that work best for me are shorts underneath.

1. Jockey® – Skimmies® Wicking Slipshort | 2.Lively – The All-Day T-Shirt Bra | 3. Nordstrom – Yummie – Seductive Silhouette Convertible Strapless Slip | 4. Victoria’s Secret -Sexy Illusions – Strapless Bra |
5. Nordstrom – Yummie – Ultralight Seamless Shaping Briefs |
6. Target – Assets by Spanx – Women’s High-Waist Shaping Tights | 7. Nordstrom – Barefoot Dreams® – CozyChic® Robe |
8. Nordstrom – SPANX® -Thinstincts Girl Shorts
Speaking of shorts, the two above are ones I’ve personally tried and recommend. I have 5 of the Jockey® ones (number 1) which I lived in over the summer. I threw them on under dresses and was good to go – no chafing at all. My sister has the thinstinct shorts (number 8) and I tried them when I visited her. They’re fantastic. Their material is thinner than the Jockey® ones, so that’s a point in their favor. A point for Jockey® is their price.
Also necessary for a good foundation is a great bra. I say every woman should have a perfect fitting strapless bra. This one from Victoria’s Secret (number 4) fits the bill. It’s my favorite bra and best strapless I’ve ever owned. I like that it has straps you can add on or leave off depending on how you want to use it. On the inside is non-slip material that keeps your girls in place and on the band so it doesn’t ride up or down. I haven’t personally tried number 2, but it’s on my list.
If you don’t have thigh gap, or the body glide stuff works for you, or you just want to have a smooth look under pants, these shaping briefs (5) are for you. They’ll hold you in underneath anything. Make sure you don’t get them too tight or you might make yourself a little sick. You want them to be slightly snug, but not enough that you feel it’s cutting off air.
In the winter, tights are a necessity for me, and ones that offer shaping at the same time are perfect. Number 6 is perfect for shaping and a nice tight fit at the same time. Sometimes tights don’t do a great job of shaping, but these do. I have a pair of these and can recommend them as well.
Even though this isn’t an undergarment per se, this robe, (number 7), had to be included. This is my absolute favorite robe. It’s cozy and comfy and warm. It’s a little bigger than normal, but that’s what makes it cozy. I live in this robe in the winter and wanted to share the goodness with you.
Lastly, we have the slip (number 3). This is great if you have a dress and need overall slimming. Wearing the slip under your dress will smooth out everything – so no lumps anywhere. I like that it has a strapless upper portion so you can wear it under most dresses.
