You Can Never Have Too Many Stripes!

Stripes have become my new neutral. I have lost track of how many items I have that are striped. Every time I go on a browsing expedition something with stripes catches my eye and I can’t help myself. Since we’ve been doing posts on patterns lately, I think we need one dedicated to stripes. I’ve chosen 8 that I would actually buy and wear. Most are the usual black and white ones, but there are a few that have color.

Unfortunately, the dress I’m wearing above was Talbots Clearance so it’s no longer available, which is a bummer because it’s so cute. I love the neckline. Not to fret, though my pets, I’ve got some fun ones below.

1. Boden – Gabriella Silk Blouse | 2. Oasis – Brooke Bow Stripe Knit |
3. Unique Vintage – Hot Pink & Black Zebra Stripe Print Ruffle Neck Tie Blouse | 4. Nordstrom – City Chic Stripe Midi Dress | 5. Talbots – Jersey Maxi Dress – Stripe | 6. Forever 21 – Striped Shirt Dress | 7. Unique Vintage – Retro Style Coral & Cream Stripe Long Sleeve Knit Sweater | 8. ModCloth – Hell Bunny Striped Rhapsody Tie-Neck Top

Number 1

This silk blouse feels very French to me, but also very fall inspired. I love how the neckline is unexpected and becoming. The color combo, with navy instead of black is a very nice touch. This would look tres magnifique with navy slacks or a skirt.

Number 2

This sweater not only has stripes, but the bow. How cute is this? It would be fun with jeans and white sneakers, or black pants with heels.

Number 3

So this isn’t your typical striped shirt, and that’s why I picked it. According to the description, it’s a zebra stripe. I like. The black piping around the cap sleeves and front of shirt are a great addition to make the shirt a little more posh that it would otherwise seem. The bow also kicks it up a few notches. This would be very unexpected peeking out from under a stuffy blazer.

Number 4

This is actually a plus size dress which I think is very cool. The tie/knot around the waist will make it look so tiny. I love the different stripes across the bust area, along with the vertical ones on the skirt part. That will elongate your body and give you a great hourglass figure. This would look great with colorful heels, or knee-high boots.

Number 5

Another striped dress, but this one has a cute tie waist and is a long one. Since it has long sleeves, it’s perfect for winter. I would add some booties or even knee high boots to it. One thing I’d make sure to do is wear some shaping shorts that hold you in a little more than regular shorts. Or, even shaping tights.

Number 6

I like this dress, but I wouldn’t wear it how they have it styled here. I’m not sure if it’s see-through or not, so that might be an issue. If it is, I’d put a black bodysuit underneath. I love the color of this and how ladylike and professional it looks.

Number 7

This looks like such a cozy sweater I had to include it in this roundup. I love the peach color – it’s a nice unexpected sweater color. This would probably be a sweater I’d wear all winter long. It would look equally great with jeans, black pants, or even a skirt in a contrasting pattern if you’re daring.

Number 8

I seem to be rather into stripes with bows today because here is another one. I like how this stays true to the black and white theme, and that the bow seems to be on the bigger side. This is another shirt that would look great under a blazer.

What do you guys think? Are you as into stripes as I am? Is there something else you’re into that you’d like me to go into depth on for the next post? If so, let me know. I’m here to help you guys.
